"Snap P Lady Godiva" appointed "Prix d´honneur" at the National Beef Breed Show.

The polled heifer "Snap P Lady Godiva", 11 month old.

The polled heifer "Snap P Lady Godiva" appointed "Prix d´honneur" at the National Beef Breed Show 2012. There where nearly 100 limousins in the catalogue.

"Snap P Lady Godiva" is a quite unique polled heifer even though she is not one year old yet. She weighed 496 kg before we went to the show. "Snap P Lady Godiva" entered a very big class of heifers from 10-12 month old - there where 14 in the catalogue.

"Snap P Lady Godiva" is a daughter of "Ryde Uranos P" and our very consistent breading cow "Snap Lady Apollonia".

This is the time ever, that a polled limousin has achieved to be appointed "Prix d´honneur" at the National Beef Breed Show !

29.2.2012:

Exterior evaluation of cows at Snapholt Limousine

Our young Neuf cows have been exterior evaluated with an very satisfactory result of 88 point and 89 point. Our herd now have an average exterior evaluation of 88 points - which i beleive is the 3rd or 4th higest ranking score in Denmark.

We have sold Snap Lady Celia to Tommy Jessing. Celia is a daughter of our french cow Seche and is a real breader !

Snap P Lady Gipsy sold

We have sold a fanstatic polled heifer calf "Snap P Lady Gipsy" to Finn Jørgensen, Bjerre. "Gipsy" has maybe the widest pelvis of an animal ever at Snapholt - which is quite unique since she is polled og and is nice blond. Here 365 day weigth is 507 kg.

She is a daughter of the french polled bull "Chef P" and the cow "Snap Lady Celia", who also had a yearling weigh of +500 kg "Celia" is the daughter of "Paradis" and our french cow "Seche".

Finn was to take "Gipsy" to the ILC 2012 Exebition in Herning

We have sold our very first home breed limousin cow Snap Vanity Queen. She is second to none when it come to docility. She has done well in our herd and is e.g. mother of "Cowgirl".

The bull "Snap Polled Fashion" is sold

Aase & Brian Vejhøj, Taars have bought the polled bull "Snap Polled Fashion". He is extremely docile and have a good exteroir. 365 days: 593 kg. He is the son of "Snap Polled Dragoheart" who is now a herdbull in Germany. He is the only danish born calf of Dragonheart.

"Snap Polled Fashion", who with a 33% probability is homozygotisk polled, is going to work in Aase & Brians herd of Blonde D´Aquitaine cows.

Snapholt Limousin approved with the predicate "Activ Breading Herd"

We have just received the certificate that shows that Snapholt Limousin meet the demand on the predicate "Active Breading Herd". In order to get the certificate the herd have to meet demand regarding weighing on all calves, using AI or high index herd bulls, exterior evaluation on all females and testing of bull calves at the National Performance Test Station in Aalestrup

National Championship

My son Julius qualified to the National Championship in road race in the <11 year class along with 30 other boys througout the country in his very first race.

Today was the day of the National Championship - and it went very well

Here a very focused Julius made the 4th best time in the timetrial in the National Championship. The father was very proud ..... !

The bull "Snap Polled Fortress" is sold

Vagn Rasmusen, Ostbirk have bought the polled bull "Snap Polled Fortress". He is docile and of good size and exterior. 365 days: 612 kg. He is out of "Viking PP" and "Snap Miss Adonica" and is therefore maternal halfbrother to "Snap Polled Dragonheart", who know is a herdbull in Germany.

Jan P. Jensen exibits "Snap Frontline"

Jan P. Jensen - who is best known as one of the show judged in Denamrk and is the breeder of the Champion junior bull at the National Show 2010 - bought "Snap Frontline" directly from the National Teststation in Aalestrup. "Snap Frontline" passed the test with remarkable test results.

At the National Show "Snap Fontline" was 774 kg 14½ month old !

He was second out of 6 bull in the bull class from 14-16 month with 23 points.

Judge at the National Show in Belgium

I have been invited to judge the limousine exebition at the National Show in Belgium. I have accepted and look forward to a exiting trip to Libramont, Belgium !

But first its all about the Danish National Show - we leave tomorrow with 3 animals. In adition the bull "Snap Frontline" that we sold to Jan P Jensen also will be at the show. So Snapholt Limousin will be represented by 4 animals.

The Hjorring Show 2010 - Big succes for Snapholt Limousin

It went better than expected at this years show in Hjorring. The Hjorring Show is the biggest limousin show in Denmark after the National Show in Herning. We got the following results with our 4 entries:

This years show-animal are ready.

With only 5 days to the Hjorring Show it was on time to start the training on the show animals. So the day was used on cleaning, training og coamming. "Snap Lady Exotic" who was champion heifer at AgroNord show 2011 in march was photografed with the champion ribon in our garden. She is in super show condition right now with a weight on +800 kg:

The team for the National Show 2011

We will enter the National Show 2011 with the 2 Neuf heifers "Snap Lady Exotic" og "Snap Lady Erotic" and the young bull "Snap Foolproof".

"Snap Foolproof" is out of the same cow as our "Prix D´honneur" bull from the National Show 2010 "Snap Eagle Eye". The 2 brothers look very much alike, so we hope for another good result.

"Snap Foolproof" is for sale - so come to the National Show to check him. He is a son of "Talent RRE" og "Snap Apache Queen". He is very docile and he will breed beef and easy calving.

The team for the Hjorring Show 2011.

Since I have got a new "girl-friend" (se the picture below) I haven´t had much time for the limousins lately. The training hasn´t started yet - so I submitted the hole brutto team for the Hjorring Show. "Snap Lady Apollonia" with her calf (she will participate solely due to the training of the calf that is very unique), the de 2 Neuf-heifers "Snap Lady Exotic" and "Snap Lady Erotic" (they can do well individually as well as in the contest of best pair), the young bull "Snap Foolproof" (he is for sale - he is very calm and beefy) and the 1st. calf cow "Snap Cowgirl Queen" (she is very big and elegant with + 900 kg on a 157 cm frame)

"Snap Frontline" made an very impressive result on the teststation

Our bull "Snap Frontline" made very fine results on the National Teststation. The test ended with impressive indises : growth 107, muscle 103 and feed eff. 99

12.3.2011:

"Snap Lady Exotic" was Champion heifer with 24 points at AgroNord

The AgroNord 2011 exebition was quit fantastic for us at Snapholt Limousin. We participated with the two heifers "Snap Lady Exotic " and "Snap Lady Erotic". The heifers are 3/4 full-sisters.

"Snap Lady Exotic" was appointed Champion older heifer, Champion heifer and was upgraded to the maximum score of 24 points.

Together the two heifers won the title "Best pair" thus we got 2 "prix d´honneur" at AgroNord 2011.

"Snap Frontline" doing very well at Aalestrup National Teststation

Julius and I went to Aalestrup to wisit our bullcalf "Snap Frontline", that is testet for growth, muscling, feed efficiency and docility at the National Teststation in Aalestrup.

"Snap Frontline" is doing very well right now. In the latest 4 week period he had an average daily growth of 2.071 g. His overall ADG is 1.787 g and in combination with a very high 225 day weigth on nearly 400 kg his preliminary results are very promissing ...

I wonder if "Snap Frontline" can recognize Julius ... ?

Inseminations made in 2010 promises exiting calves in the 2011 season

All females that where inseminated in 2010 are now found pregnant. This gives promise of some exiting calves in the 2011 season. The choise of AI bull in the 2010 season have been made with the purpose to produce some exiting calves for the International Limousin Congress in 2012 in Denmark. It have been a priority to use genetics that is not so widely used in Denmark or in the nearby countrys.

Like the last years ½ of the female are inseminated with polled semen and ½ with horned elite bulls.

My choise of horned elite bull in 2010 was Sympa. I have use him on all the females of the Sanne blodline. This will give theese exiting combinations:

Sympa x Snap Apache Queen after Nenuphar

Many visitor at Snapholt Limousine at open house, d. 12. februar 2011

The wether was lovely - blue sky and sun but very very cold - when Snapholt Limousine opened the doors to the stable.

125-150 choose to use this saturday to visit our herd. Some came to look at the animals and some who were planning to build a stable came to make measurements of our stable.

Exterior evaluation of young cows at Snapholt Linousine

The Danish Limousin Societys tecnitian Jens Chr. Holgård exterior evaluated 3 yuong 1st calf cow today. Two after Paradis RJ and a polled cow after Klegvanggård P Uranus.

The average exteror evaluation of cows in our herd is still 86 points. Theese are the results from today:

New exiting polled bull from France

I have bought semen from a very exiting young polled french bull "Clovis". Clovis was champion young bull at SIMA in Paris and he has very promissing pedigree. Read more about him here.

I hope to be able to exibite a couple of Clovis calves at the International Limousin Congress i 2012 that will be held in Denmark.

"Snap Lady Apollonia" no. 1 in Denmark !

The new indices has just been published - og we are happy to see that "Snap Lady Apollonia" now has advanced to be the female in Denmark with the highest milkingindex of 144 (34%).

She don´t have these genes from strangers. Her mother, our french cow "Seche", have also reached a milking index of 144 (39%).

The milking index is achieved on these weight results of her calves:

1. calf (bull): 200 dage 384 kg (prix d´honnour at the Hjorring Show)

2. calf (heifer): 200 dage: 340 kg (no 3 of 12 heifers in class on the National Show 2010)

3. calf (bull): 200 dage: 403 kg (entered to the National Teststation)

The bullcalf "Snap Frontline" entered The National Teststation

Snap Frontline has entered the National Teststation. It will be interessting to follow his development. In our herd he has performed very well:

120 days: 252 kg og 121 cm (only on milk)

200 days: 403 kg. Height 5½ month 127 cm

Total-index: 125

Very docil and an exeptional exterior

Pedigree - the best !

Mother "Snap Lady Apollonia". Total-index 122, twice champion, best heifer and best cow of the futura (interbreed) at The Hjorring Show, Classwinner at the National Show, yearling weight 523 kg.

Father "Uralou" - has a unique pedigree !. Maybe the best french bull imported to Denmark ever.

Record weight by the bullcalf "Snap Frontline"

The bullcalf "Snap Frontline" have reached an impressive 403 kg at 200 days. He was 127 cm tall at the hips at the age of 5½ month old.

08.09.2010:

The bullcalf "Snap Polled Falcon" entered The National Teststation

Snap Polled Falcon is a son of the homozygotik bull "Viking PP" og "Snap Lady Celia", who is out of "Paradis RJ" and our french cow "Seche". This year we have got a handfull of polled bullcalves by Viking PP, and wanted therefore to send one of them to The National Teststation. It was not easy to choose - but we picted "Snap Polled Falcon" even though he probbly not will be the biggest of the Viking bullcalves. But he has a very nice blond colour and he is very wide at the pelvis, whitch is still rare for polled limousins.

200 days weight for "Snap Polled Falcon" was 347 kg.

Record weight by the bullcalf "Snap Frontline"

We weigh all calves at 120 days as in France becuase this give a better measurement of the cows milking ability than the 200 days weight.

The bull calf "Snap Frontline" have reached an impressive 252 kg and 121 cm tall at the hips at 120 days purely on milk. His mother "Snap Lady Apollonia" by Micmac is a first class milker and have and milking index of 140 (32%). The maternal grandmother is our french cow "Seche", who have a milking index of 143 (38%). Thise cows are among the absolut elite in Denmark regarding milk.

The father of "Snap Frontline" is Uralou.

We visited Heiner Seemann og Snap P Dragonheart in Germany

On the way to our hollyday in Italy we visited Heiner Seemann in Wallsbüll, Germany. Heiner bought Snap P Dragonheart last year, so we looked forward to se how he had develloped as a 2 year old bull.

We were certainly not disappointed. Snap P Dragonheart is still a middle framed bull with great harmony, exterior and with a good colour. His docility is quite unique. Heiner had tought Dragonheart at to go to his special spot in the stable just jusing the command "Dragonheart - auf dein Platz". I was very pleased to se that Heiner is just as fond of Dragonheart as we were.

Dragonheart has served 40 cows in Heiners herd during the winther - so the first calves will come very soon.

Here at Snapholt Limousin we have just got a bullcalf after Dragonheart. This calf might by homozygotisk polled.

The National Show 2010 - Snap Eagle Eye won "prix d´honneur"

Snap Eagle Eye was classwinder and won "prix d´honneur" .

At the show Snap Eagle Eye was sold to Niels Peter Pedersen. In Niels Peter Pedersens herd Snap Eagle Eye shall relieve the AI bull "Thy Sullivan" - the higgest index bull in Denmark (S=145). Congratulation to Niels Peter Pedersen with purchase of Snap Eagle Eye.

The heifers Snap Lady Exotic and Snap Lady Erotic was no.3 and no.6 in the biggest class at the National Show of 12 heifers. Together they were second in the best pair contest.

Just bullcalves ....

Until now we have just got bullcaves this year. This is bad news for Snapholt Limousin because I have really looked forward to keep heifers from some of the most interesting combinations, i.e.

Tistou x Seche
Uralou x Snap Lady Apollonia
Viking PP x Snap Lady Celia
Viking PP x Snap Cowgirl Queen

But it is good news for our costumers because there wil be some very good bullcalves to choose between next spring. Until now we have got 3 polled bullcalves after Viking PP and bullcalves after Uralou, Tistou og Talent.

I´am especially positiv surprices by the quality in the Viking bullcalves who can match the horned calves.

The bullcalf "Snap Elite Evolution" is sold. He is the first calf out of our "Seche cow-line" that we have offered for sale.

He is very docile and has a very strong exterior. If he was not sold we would have exibited him on the shows this sommer

10.04.2010:

Finally - the snow is gone

Today the last snow is meltet after the longest winther in many many years.

We have had snow since the week before christmas - nearly 4 month The snow was so massiv that more than 100 buildings has collapsed in our local area due to the weigth of the snow !

From the beginning of february to medio march we were not able to get to our silage in the field due 1½ meters of snow everywhere - so the cows lived only on straw. My plans for the team for the shows this summer will therefore have to change - many animals are not able to be ready for showing.

Impressive yearling weights on Neuf-heifers.

The 2 heifers from 2009 out of my "Seche cow-line" are out of the french bull Neuf RRE M. The heifers have just been weighted 365 days old with the impressive result of 505 kg og 506 kg.

My french cow Seche from Pimpin have got 4 heifers and is maternal grandmother of additional 1 heifer. 4 of theese 5 heifers have achived 1 year weights of +500 kg !

I have just bougth semen from 2 polled bulls from Franche in the quest of polled quality animals were the polled gene can be introduced while the limousin breeds known qualityes are still intact.

Chef P - is a young polled bull from France. He is very interesting because he introduces a new polled line (Vrai) combined with wellknown horned french top-genetics (Marquis RREvs).

Ryde Uranos P - an wellkown bull, that is still considered the best polled bull woldwide.

New results from the national performance teststation "Aalestrup"

I have 2 bull calves at the national teststation in Aalestrup. The calves are ET full brothers and out the very interesting combination of the bull Muguet RRvs and the cow Mantille RR from Earl Bonnet in France. The same combination have made the cow "Suberbe RR" who have won a lot of shows in France.

64893-0057 have grown 54 kg in the last 28 dage -> 1.929 grams pr day

64893-0058 have grown 56 kg in the last 28 dage -> 2.000 grams pr day

They are fully testet around the 1. marts - they will be sold directly from the teststation.

Good growth on calves from the "Seche-blood line"

I have just weighed the 3 calves in our herd from 2009 who is out of the Seche blood line. The calves are 9½ month old. All of the calves is heading for very good yearling weigths!

Happy New Year

We wish all our customers and collegues a Happy New Year.

2009 offered many experiences for our small limousinherd: "Snap P Dragonheart" was performance tested and was sold to Germany after a succesfull showresult, we exibited animalt at AgroNord and Hjorring Show with "prix d´honnour" to "Snap Cowgirl Queen", we got a couplle of super ET bull calves by a full french pedigree and one of the ET bull calves was shown in the french Grand Cru catalogue, we got a new 4WD tractor, I was on a very educative trip to Irland og finally I entered the edutorial commitee of the magazin "Limousine Nyt". But most important, we got 12 lovely limousincalves.

Exterior evaluation of young cows

Danish Limousin Society´s technician Jens Christian Holgaard exterior scored our young cows today.

All the results of exterior evaluation can be found under the menu "besætningen" - "vejetal og kåringer"

The average exterior evaluation of the cows at Snapholt Limousin are 86 point - one of the very best average scores among danish limousin herds.

12.11.2009:

Control of animal welfare without any remarks

Today Snapholt Limousin was inspected by the Danish Minitry of Food and Agriculture. We got a 5 min notice before the inspector arrived. The purpose of the inspection was to control the animal welfare in our herd and to control that we had made the statutory bluetongue vaccination.

5 % of all herds in Denmark are controlled each year - and now it was our turn.

The inspection went fine - and as I expected there was no remarks.

"Snap P Dragonheart" is now in Germany

I had to solve a number of small practical problems in order to apply to all sorts of veterinary and transport rules before the export of Dragonheart to Germany could be a reality. But once again we succeeded finding a way through all the rules - and today "Snap P Dragonheart" arrived at his new owner, Heiner Seemann in Germany.

Impressive 200 day weight on 2 Neuf heifercalves

My 2 Neuf heifercalves have just been weighted 200 days old. The result was impressive 345,2 kg and 340,4 kg. These are new records at Snapholt Limousine for heifer calves. I am especially pleased with the results because both heifers are very docil and because the growth has been without grain - purely on milk and grass

The Neuf heifercalves are of different types - but both with a strong exterior quality. They are daugther and granddaugther of the cow "Seche" from Gaec Pimpin Freres in France.

24.9.2009:

Study trip to Ireland

I have just returned home from a very educative trip with the Danish Limousin Society to Ireland. We visited 3 herds who all had an extensive use of ET to ensure maximum breeding progress.

Specially the herd Ardlea & Elite was very impressive. This herd has bought a lot of high quality animals in France through the years. International recogniced AI bulls such as Farfelu, Lino og Ferry have all been stockbulls in the herd and now Tistou (championbull from Paris) is one of the stockbulls in the herd.

We went to an auction where 50 females from the herd Milbrook Limousin Herd, owned by the chairmann of the Irish Limousin Society, were sold. 10 of the catalogue numbers were sold to Danish breeders.

Finally we visited "The Ploughing" - The Irish National Show. This was really a big experience for me. Each beef cattle breed had it´s own stable - each with a seperat showring. The animals at The Ploughing were of very high quality and especially the very professional showmanship of the irish breeders impressed me - here we have something to learn in Denmark.

The animals were big and very meaty. It was clear that meat is of high priority in the irish limousin breeding. Due to this the choise of bulls is a little different that in Denmark. One of the bulls that impressed me the most was "Sympa", who is out of a Haricot-son and a Genial-daughter.

Full French bullcalves from Snapholt Limousin on the National Teststation in Aalestrup

The full brothers "Snap Eagleheart ET" and "Snap Eaglewing ET" is now on the National Performance Teststation in Aalestrup.

The bullcalves have a full french pedigree hence they are the result of ET import from the well known herd Earl Bonnet.

The pedigree is very exciting and promise big frame, exterior and milk. The bull "Muguet RRvs" is a fantastic son of "Festin RREvs" and "Caille RRE", who is the full sister to "Epson RRE M". In the pedigree there is only one animal who is not classified and there are 4 cows who have been embryo-donor. A full sister to the embryos "Suberbe RR" has been class winner several times.

Snap P Dragonheart is sold to Heiner Seemann from Germany. Dragonheart is going to work in Heiner´s herd of 100 limousin cows, where Heiner among other things focus on breeding for polled quality animals.

"Activ breeding Herd 2009"

Snapholt Limousine has jet another time been opproved with the predicate "Active Breeding Herd". To achieve this predicate the herd has to meet different demands: Calves have to be weigthed at birth, 200 and 365 days, all cows have to be exterior evaluated, the herd has to enter bullcalves to the National Performence Station and the herd has to use AI or use stock bull with high indices.

Out of +2.000 limousin herds in Denmark, 47 of theese herds meet the demands to be appointed "Active Breeding Herd"

We have spend a lot of money and bougth a new tractor - a Zetor 7441. With 700 meters private road we have had trouble with the snow in the winther time - so a new tractor with 4WD was needed.

And why is that interessting when my forreign limousin studytrip this year is going to Irland and not to france. Well - the catalogue shows picture of french elite genetics formerly sold abroad - and here Snapholt Limousin is represented.

"Seche" continues to impress

Our french cow "Seche" from Gaec Pimpin Freres continues to impress regarding milking ability.

I have just weighted 2 Neuf heifercalves at 120 days - a daugther and a granddaughter with the results 225 og 229 kg.

"Seche" has a milk index of 140 and her first daugher "Snap Lady Apollonia" has a milk index of 137.

Both of these Neuf heifercalves are very docile - maybe animals for next year´s shows ....

1.8.2009:

"Klarlund Sanne" weigh nearly a ton

The first limousin in our herd was "Klarlund Sanne". She is now a mature lady at 7 years and 993 kg.

Sanne has done well for Snapholt Limousin. 2 daughters are cows in our herd and she is maternal grandmother of "Snap Cowgirl Queen", who was the follow-up champion heifer at Hjorring Show 2009.

Sanne is mother to the bull "Snap Clan Commander", who probably is the best bull ever born in this herd. "Snap Clan Commander" was sold to a herd in Italy.

Sanne has a full-brother of Clan Commander at side. This calv looks really good with the potential of a big future !

Pictures from Snapholt Limousin to the french "Grand Cru-catalogue 2009" - perhaps

The french limousin association have asked for pictures of elite limousins that are the result of a french export of animals or embryoes. The pictures will be used in the "Grand Cru Catalogue 2009".

19.6.2009:

Hjorring Show 2009: Success for Snapholt Limousin.

The Hjorring Show went well for Snapholt Limousin. All our 3 catalogue numbers achived 23 point.

"Snap P Dragonheart" was second in class after the bull that 2 weeks later was the overall bull champion at the National Show. Dragonheart is the first polled limousin ever to achive 23 point at Hjorring Show. The bull is very meaty and very docil.

The young cow "Snap Lady Apollonias" also was second after a very close race against the later champion (a former champion from the National Show). As the only nr. 2 in the entire show she was appointed to participate in the competition for the price of honnours.

The heifer "Snap Cowgirl Queen" won her class, was reserve champion heifer and won a price of honnour

"Snap P Dragonheart" tested at the national teststation

The test of "Dragonheart" is finished and the bull is home at Snapholt Limousin.

His average growth unfortunately declined a little in the final measurement, thus he finished at 1.545 g/day (race average at the station 1.532 g/day), Meat index: 100 equals race average and feed efficiency was 5,41 feed units/kg growth (race average 5,49).

The decline in his growth in the last mesurement was a petty, because his growth increased to 2.062 g/day after his return to Snapholt.

Tistou was champion bull from Paris 2006 and I expect he will breed size, exterior and a calm offspring.

Nesting box for Barn Owl

Before going to AgroNord on saturday morning I saw a Barn Owl (Tyto alba) in the the stable. Barn Owls is very rare in Denmark and they are depending on a indoor nesting box . So today a nesting box was installed in the stable by a owl-specialist from the Danish Ornithological Society - great service !

28.1.2009:

Recipients have calved - The first calves in Denmark after "Muguet RRvs" is born at Snapholt Limousin

I bougth 2 embryos after the combination Muguet RRvs & Mantille RR on my last trip to Franch - this have now resulted in 2 bull calves.

Muguet RRvs is perhaps the best bull by Festin RREvs. Muguet´s mother "Caille" is a fullsister to "Epson RRE", who still is the bull with the highest indices of all French bulls in Denmark (S=132).

The combination Muguet x Mantille is really speciel. This combination have resulted in "Surberb RR", who have done very well in shows.

In the pedigree 13 out of 14 animals are classified. 4 out of 7 cows in the pedigree have been ET-donor cows. Impressive ... !

"Snap Eagleheart ET" have already a "I´am in charge" attitude - 2 weeks old. His exelent exterior (big frame, wide in the back and pelvis) makes him look very confident ....

9.1.2009:

Polled bull does well at the national teststation

Our bull calf "Snap P Dragonheart" is being tested on the Aalestrup teststation where bull calves are tested for growth capacity, beef value og feed efficiency. The first measurement of "Dragonheart"s growth capacity shows a daily gain of 1.786 grams.

"Snap P Dragonheart" has the heigest daily gain at this time among the 22 limousin calves being tested right now on the station and where the start weigth are approved.

This is a very preliminary result - so it will be interesting to follow the coming results.

"Snap P Dragonheart" is polled and after Åberg Pan P. Dragonheart is the first calf by "Snap Miss Adonica" who is a rather untypical daugther of Ryde Master as she is very tall (155 cm at the hips )

A couple of months ago we bought semen from the 2 french top-bulls - Neuf RRE and Talent RRE. We are only able to use Talent to some of our cows due to his close relationsship to Seche and her offspring.

We have already been using of the semen thus we expect calves with interesting pedigree to the herd in 2009.

Record breaking growth on bullcalves

"Snap Dragonheart" was exibited at the Hjorring Show 2 months ago together with his mother "Snap Lady Apollonia", with the result winning the interbreed title "Best cow of the future". Since then "Snap Dragonheart" has gained 168 kg - an average daily gain of 2.333 grams.

His stablemate "Snap Dirty Harry" has in the same period had an average daily gain of 2.000 grams. "Snap Dirty Harry" is a son of Pacha and another of our young show cows "Snap Apache Queen"

If you need a new bull for the season 2009, who will provide growth and exterior to your herd, the bull calves can be reserved already now.

Suddenly this evening a young couple from Norway came to our farm. They considered immigrating to Denmark to buy a small farm with a limousin herd. They have seen our homepage and wanted to see our herd "live". It turned into a very cosy evening with the norwegians - who was to be married saturday.

The National Show 2008

Due to the Blue Tongue situation we were not able to exibite animals from Snapholt Limousine at The National Show this year. Instead I was once again assistant judge - which always is interesting and educational.

The World Congress for the Hereford breed was held at The National Show this year. In the picture below the owner of the supreme champion hereford - a very well-build and meety bull "Slyk 1 Agro" - recieves a huge trophy from His Royal Highness Prins Joachim.

Hjorring Show 2008: Success for Snapholt Limousin.

The Hjorring Show 2008 was the biggest ever. Measured in the numbers of limousin cattle The Hjorring Show was even bigger than The National Show this year.

Snapholt Limousine had another great show, where our 3 catalogue numbers all did well in the tough competition.

"Snap Lady Apollonia" (by Micmac RR & Seche) won the interbreed title "best cow of the future"

Our two heifers "Snap Lady Bestseller" (by Hammel Osvald & Seche) and "Snap Cowgirl Queen" (by Paradis RJ & Snap Vanity Queen), both won their classes.

The Bull "Snap Clan Commander" is on his way to Italy

Congratulation to Mariella and Salvatore Azara with the purchase of "Snap Clan Commander"

At the departure Snap Clan Commander weighed nearly 750 kg and was 149 cm tall - at 15 month of age.

Thanks to Niels Ebbe Lykke-Hansen, who have arranged the transport to Italy.

The team for The Hjorring Show 2008.

This year we will participate at The Hjorring Show with the young cow "Snap Lady Apollonia" and her bullcalf "Snap Dragonheart" and the two heifers "Snap Lady Bestseller" & "Snap Cowgirl Queen".

The transport of elite animals to Italy is still not carried out, so I have also signed the bull "Snap Clan Commander" up for the Hjorring Show - even though I expect that he is moved to his new owner in Italy before the show.

Probably the best bullcaf i have ever breed "Snap Clan Commander" is sold to Italy. Clan Commander has an unusual strong exterior - he is a real show bull with champion potential. Clan Commander is after my champion cow "Klarlund Sanne" and like all other progeny by Sanne he is very docil.

Elite auction at Wilhelmsborg Manor canceled

One of my strong exterior cows "Rosa" should have been sold at the elite breeding stock sale at Wilhelmsborg Manor. As the Danish Limousin Society had to cancel the sale due to the bluetongue situation, Rosa can be bougth from the herd.

"Rosa" is a very long and elegant cow, exterior evaluated at 85 point and in calf with the polled proven bull "Klegvanggård Uranus"
